NHS Forest awards
NHS Forest awards nominations for 2025 are now open.
The NHS Forest awards happen each year at our autumn conference. They are a chance for us to present awards to those NHS Forest sites who have created inspiring green spaces and used them in particularly innovative ways. You can read about the 2024 winners in this blog on the NHS Forest website.
Any NHS Forest site is eligible to be nominated for an award. If you are not yet an NHS Forest site you can sign up for free and join over 400 sites who are working to improve green spaces for staff, patients and their local community. The nominated projects can be collaborations, as long as it is an NHS Forest site, trust or health board that is leading the work.
The project should fall under one of four categories: Innovative development, collaborative projects, green space on a budget and green space for wellbeing. You can find the full details below. You can nominate your own project, or another one that you know of – please indicate on the form whether you are nominating yourself or others.
Shortlisted sites will be contacted in August and asked to prepare a one-minute video. This could be a piece to camera or photos with voiceover. Support with this will be available.

We love hearing about:
- Innovative development of green space at health sites. What have you/they done that is new and different to develop and make use of green spaces at healthcare sites to enhance biodiversity?
- Collaborative green space projects at health sites. How have you/they worked with community groups or organisations to develop healthcare green space?
- Green space on a budget at health sites. What have you/they been able to achieve at healthcare green spaces on budgets of under £1000?
- Green space for wellbeing at health sites. How have you/they developed healthcare green space to support therapeutic or wellbeing activities?
