NHS Forest awards
NHS Forest awards nominations for 2024 are now closed. You can read about the 2024 winners in this blog on the NHS Forest website.
The NHS Forest awards happen each year at our autumn conference. They are a chance for us to present awards to those NHS Forest sites who have created inspiring green spaces and used them in particularly innovative ways.
Any NHS Forest site is eligible to be nominated for an award. If you are not yet an NHS Forest site you can sign up for free and join nearly 400 sites who are working to improve green spaces for staff, patients and their local community. The nominated projects can be collaborations, as long as it is an NHS Forest site, trust or health board that is leading the work.
The project could be for the health and wellbeing of patients, staff or the wider community, or for the benefit of the environment at a health site, for example through increasing or supporting biodiversity. You can nominate your own project, or another one that you know of – please indicate on the form whether you are nominating yourself or others.
Shortlisted sites will be contacted in August and asked to prepare a one-minute video. This could be a piece to camera or photos with voiceover. Support with this will be available.

We love hearing about:
- Innovative development of green space at health sites. What have you/they done that is new and different to enhance and make use of physical green space to enhance biodiversity?
- Active community engagement. How have you/they involved community members?
- Pioneering use of green space for health and wellbeing. What did you/they do, who was involved and what difference has it made to staff, patients or the community?
- Collaborative green space projects. How have you/they worked across different departments, groups or organisations to develop green space?
