Some of the green space at Wythenshawe Hospital is dedicated to allotments, making clear links between the natural environment, food production and health. The usage and management of these spaces varies; however, the site is aiming to create more consistency to enable more structured use by staff and patients.

The hospital is collaborating with local food charity Real Food Wythenshawe and Incredible Edible to re-establish and develop some of our growing spaces to support patients transitioning out of hospital. It also runs cooking classes for staff members.
