In late 2023 they joined the NHS Forest and planted 400 NHS Forest trees paid for by the Nature for Climate fund.
The grounds at Fareham Community have been evolving since 2023. They have the Friends of Fareham Community Hospital who have a volunteer gardening group. Originally they adopted a roundabout and things have expanded. The group meet once a month on various project. Not only does their work appeal to the eye, it also makes the area more tranquil, calm and wildlife friendly. Creating boards with flowing plants, Improving unused land. The site have created a large wildflower area, increased seating and planted fruit trees. Hedgerow has been increased. Bug hotels and environments have been created for wildlife. They have three beautiful courtyards which are well kept and tranquil for the site users’ enjoyment. They are now starting a community garden. This will allow food to be grown and offer a safe space to socialise. Many groups will be able to use this space with various charities having access to this space on a bookable basis. They are working with Primary Care and the Friends of Fareham to develop this. It is being led by Loveoutdoors CIC who are the experts in creating these spaces.
