Pinderfields Hospital joined the NHS Forest in 2021. They originally planted six trees to add to their green spaces, which also contain a lot of mature trees and small wildflower areas. In 2024 they planted an additional 4000 trees as part of a largescale hedgerow project. The whips planted consisted of a double run of mixed native broadleaf species. The NHS Forest trees are part of a hedge almost one kilometre in length. It is thought to be the longest new hedgerow created on an NHS site within England in recent times.
