Hillswick Health Centre joined the NHS Forest in 2022. It first developed an enclosed surgery garden with raised beds using local stone, including dry stone walls. There is a large chain art installation made by the local blacksmith, a bench of recycled plastic, bird boxes, and local plants and wildflowers.
The health centre then planted a small forest for the millennium. A few years ago, it added a polycrub (a polytunnel-greenhouse hybrid) with indoor growing space for staff and patients. In 2022, the RSPB helped the centre plant trees
