Harefield Hospital joined the NHS Forest in 2022. At the beginning of the pandemic, access to green spaces for staff and patients was ensured through the creation of three new gardens. They have also refurbished their on site lake for patients to visit.

There are a number of bee hives on site, and members of the estates team have been trained in beekeeping. The honey produced is sold through the hospital’s charity to raise money for patient support.

Future plans include tree planting and creating an orchard.
