Douglas Medical Practice received 300 NHS Forest trees in 2022, sponsored by The Great Outdoor Gym Company. These trees formed part of a Wee Forest planted adjacent to the practice. Volunteers from schools helped plant the forest, which will support local biodiversity and public health. You can read about the forest and planting day in this article from The Courier. The site will also be used as an outdoor classroom.
