Sponsor a tree today for the NHS Forest
Help NHS staff and patients connect to nature where they need it most.
For many NHS patients and staff, access to green space can mean a moment of peace during some of the most difficult days of their lives. NHS sites across the UK are asking for help to create green spaces, by sponsoring a tree with the NHS Forest your gift can help bring nature where it’s needed.
How does it work?
Anyone can sponsor the NHS Forest. Since 2009, supporters like you have helped plant 160,000 trees. Our sponsorship scheme helps us to support green spaces at healthcare sites across the UK. This includes tree planting or buying materials for our Nature Recovery Rangers to use with staff and patients. Sponsorship also contributes to running the NHS Forest programme so we can continue supporting NHS sites across the country to make the most of their green spaces.
Why sponsor the NHS Forest?
You could sponsor a tree to …
- Say thank you to NHS staff
- Commemorate somebody’s life
- Celebrate a birth
- Give a lasting gift to your colleagues, friends or family
Why do green spaces matter?
The evidence for the powerful role nature can play in supporting health is huge. Demand from NHS sites continues to grow each year which means we need your help as soon as possible. We believe that every recovering patient and hard-working healthcare professional should have direct and easy access to nature. Your sponsorship can make this a reality, one tree, one meadow, one bench at a time.
How your sponsorship could help
The funds you contribute could be used in a number of impactful ways.

Your £10 gift could help plant and protect a tree sapling, improving air quality and biodiversity on an NHS site for staff and patients

Your £25 could help to create a small wildflower meadow, bringing colour and creating a haven for pollinators.

£50 of support could provide bird or bat box kits, helping to create habitats for wildlife.

£100 could give a patient and their family a peaceful bench to rest and recover.

£250 could provide materials for a raised bed to grow wildflowers, sensory or edible plants, supporting biodiversity and enrichment for patients and staff.

£500 could plant a small orchard on a healthcare site.
These are just a few examples of how your sponsorship funds could make a difference. Your contribution, no matter the amount, could help bring real change to a number of different healthcare sites by supporting the development of their green spaces.
