County Hospital has numerous green spaces for staff, patients and members of the public to access. There is a large grassy area surrounded by trees with a walkway and benches along with courtyards and smaller spaces around the hospital. The site also includes an apple orchard. The site has 3 gardens for staff use to inspire relaxation and wellbeing. These were made using salvaged materials from building works. One of the gardens contains a vegetable patch; produce is used where possible in patient meals.
Their team of gardeners share a passion for gardening and propagate seedlings on site. They have further plans to introduce a dementia garden and an outdoor gym.
