University Hospital, Birmingham planted 370 trees over the weekend of the 22-23 February 2015. 120 of them are fruit trees; the majority a mixture of cooking and eating apples, plum, cherry, pear and damson. The species are mainly traditional varieties from the Midlands.

University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust is the leading university teaching hospital in the West Midlands and is one of the most consistently high performing trusts in the NHS. It provides a full range of services, has a large renal (kidney) programme and is a specialist centre for burns and plastic surgery, organ transplants, neuroscience and cancer.
