A practical guide developed by Natural England and cross-government partners to support consistent and robust evaluation of the impacts of outdoor interventions. It helps organisations, including the NHS, local authorities and community groups select appropriate measures and apply shared principles to assess health and wellbeing outcomes from outdoor activities.
The guide aligns with national policy (including the Environmental Improvement Plan) and contributes to the development of a standardised evaluation framework, enabling stronger evidence, comparability across projects, and improved understanding of how access to nature supports health.
