To support BTHFT in maintaining our patient & staff garden area at Westwood Park Community Hospital.
Staff at the hospital are currently maintaining the garden in their spare time, which is very limited, and would really appreciate help from a volunteer who is able to give the garden area the time and attention it needs. You do not need to be a qualified gardener, however it would be desirable for you to have a keen interest in gardening and horticulture.
Activities may include watering the plants, planting out new plants, pruning, weeding, maintaining the cleanliness of the garden area, and creating/maintaining new features such as planters, etc. All tools and equipment will be provided on site.
Part of the role may also include talking to patients in the garden and making them feel welcome and at ease in the space. We are asking for a volunteer to commit to 2-3 hours a week/fortnight on a day that suits you.
