Gardening Assistant Volunteer

BDCFT have partnered with the Centre for Sustainable Healthcare and thanks to funding from the National Lottery Community Fund we now have a Nature Recovery Ranger based with the trust for 2 years.

We’re looking for volunteers to support the Nature Recovery Ranger across the trust with nature conservation and gardening tasks to improve the outdoor spaces on our sites – both for wildlife and the people that use the grounds.

You do not need to be a qualified gardener, but we would like you to have a keen interest in gardening, nature and horticulture. You will be expected to attend a gardening induction and you will be supported into this role. One of the main sites you will be volunteering at is Lynfield Mount Hospital; if the team are working elsewhere, you might need to organise your own travel to these other sites. Most of these sites are accessible by public transport.

Half days or just a couple of hours across weekdays (Wednesdays or Friday) between 9 am and 4 pm (no weekends). Minimum time requirement: 4 hours per month

Selection Meetings will take place. If selected, we will also invite you to Getting Started, a workshop to introduce the checks you need to complete during recruitment.
