The new Midlands Metropolitan University Hospital has a beautiful community garden space, developed with support of the charity and by We Are Spectra. The garden in is its early stages of planting, with young fruit trees and recently planted perennials. There is an area dedicated to the development of an “Apothecary Garden” celebrating natural remedies and healing plants which has plenty of work left to develop.
The Community Gardener Volunteers will be involved in weeding, deadheading, pruning, mulching, watering. They will help with planting up planned development of the garden and signage to help the educational impact. They will be a friendly face for visitors to the garden and help guide them around the site when needed. They can also get involved with the artist led creative activities that take place in the garden if that is of interest.
