Charities across the UK have joined forces to campaign for the protection and enhancement of our treasured landscapes.

The Centre for Sustainable Healthcare has partnered with The Wildlife Trusts and the RSPB to call for a new Nature and Wellbeing Act. The Act would put nature at the heart of how decisions are made about health, housing and other development, education, economic growth, flood resilience and every community.
This Christmas, the NHS Forest team have launched our Christmas Crowdfunding appeal. Within a few days we have almost reached half of our target but we still need your help. In order to receive any of the donations we need to raise £1000, all donations count and for as little as £5 you could be helping to plant trees and greening NHS estates!
The UK's parks are potentially under threat if their funding is cut, according to a new government report. "State of UK Public Parks", published in 2014, makes a number of recommendations including:
Insect pollinators matter. Through pollinating wild and garden plants they contribute to biodiversity. By pollinating crops they provide variety in our diets. They are valued by YOU, the public.

Not long to go until the NHS Forest conference 2014. The NHS Forest team are looking forward to the event on the 7th October at Whittingham sports centre hosted by Lancashire Care Trust.
The agenda for the day is full of exciting presentations and innovative workshops including "Green Prescriptions", "How to Engage Clinicans" and "Funding a Forest site", to name but a few. To find out more please see here.
The NHS Forest has been shortlisted for an HSJ award in the "Improving Environmental and Social Sustainability Category". With over 1,300 entries this year we are very pleased to have got through the first round. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the dedicated staff working at our 130 NHS Forest sites who have helped make this project such a success!
