In Mental Health Awareness Week, we are pleased to be able to publish the report from last year’s conference, Transforming mental health and dementia provision with the natural environment.
This report captures the headline findings and recommendations which emerged from the day, and is published as both a full report and executive summary. The full slides from all the day’s presentations are also available online.
The report makes four key recommendations to the green space and health sector:
- Develop a more consistent approach to delivering and promoting natural environment interventions
- Know who to influence and how
- Promote the nature, health and wellbeing sector’s role in maintaining the sustainability of natural environments
- Promote the nature, health and wellbeing sector’s role in advancing mental health literacy
The Centre for Sustainable Healthcare will use this report as a platform on which to work with partners across sectors to champion the role of green space and natural environment interventions on promoting good mental wellbeing, and in supporting people suffering from mental illness and dementia – along with their families and carers – into the future.
CSH would like to reiterate their thanks to the presenters and partners who played a key role in making this conference happen.
