Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust has planted 75 trees in the 2012-13 season, giving a total of 280 NHS Forest trees planted at their site so far.
As part of their green space initiative, staff have created two gardens for elderly service users. During a corporate day, team leaders and helpers revitalised an existing garden which had not been suitable for use by removing shelters and structures which hindered access to the garden. The second garden, which is closer to hospital buildings and level, was created for service users with mobility issues.
A small orchard has also been created on an underused area of land at one of their sites for staff and adolescent site users to pick for their on site kitchen.
