The Campaign for Greener Healthcare (now the Centre for Sustainable Healthcare) has partnered with the Climate Change Health Project run by the Greater Manchester Public Health Team. The aim of the project is to promote the NHS Forest and to encourage more NHS trusts to sign up to the scheme, by raising awareness of the links between climate and human health.

The Climate Change Health Project is focused on strengthening the NHS’s contribution to climate change mitigation and sustainable development, while ensuring a wide appreciation of the effects on population health and health inequalities of climate change.

The project will establish a network of leads in NHS organisations across Northwest England, in order to:

  1. Exchange best and promising practice
  2. Raise the profile of the links between health and climate change
  3. Disseminate the latest guidance, research and information
  4. Develop expertise through training events and workshops arranged on behalf of the Northwest.
