Willow Group Surgery is developing the grass-covered land behind its building as an opportunity to do some ‘health good’ with currently unused outdoor space.

The group have recognised the need to promote practical solutions to help with ill-health and promote wellbeing. Forton Medical Centre, for example, is in Forton Ward, which has the greatest population density in Hampshire. The borough is also characterised by smaller properties; with 59.6% terraced housing or flats.

Volunteers have started to come and dig with the garden project group to create the Willow Incredible Garden, which will include two trees donated by a local garden centre.
