To honour NHS Sustainability Day, Whittington Health planted two Guelder Rose trees provide by NHS Forest. The trees were part of the Fones for Forests campaign which recycles mobile phones that were collected in the hospital during its Green Week on 12-16 March and provides the hospital with a tree for every phone collected.
The two trees were planted on Whittingon Hospital grounds by:
- Tony Fernando (Whittington Facilities Ltd, PFI partner who have been very involved in Green Week and NHS Sustainability Day of Action)
- Phil Ient, Director of Estates and Facilities, Whittington Health
- Steve Primrose, Deputy Director of Estates and Facilities, Whittington Health
