Stroud General Hospital has a large green space within its grounds which only had some sad-looking borders. To create a space that staff and visitors to the general and maternity hospitals could enjoy, it was decided to plant fruit trees and bushes and herbs in the borders as a first step.

On NHS Sustainability Day 2014, members from Edible Stroud (part of Transition Stroud) planted a quince tree and several fruit bushes and herbs for staff and patients to use throughout the year.
