Petersfield Community Hospital is located in Hampshire. Katrina Percy, Chief Executive, planted two fruit trees at 2 o’clock on NHS Sustainability Day, on 27 March 2014.

The trees were planted in the Recovery Garden at Southfield House, Tatchbury Mount Hospital.

“There is substantial evidence that being in a garden or taking part in horticultural activities can benefit people with mental health problems and learning difficulties,” she said.

“It provides a positive impact on our sense of well-being, cognitive abilities, communication and engagement, as well as providing a healthy physical activity. We are proud to support NHS Sustainability Day.”
