In 2012, secondary schools across Cornwall planted trees sponsored by the NHS Forest. Fifty trees were planted at Fowey College, 50 at Hayle Community College, 90 at Penair School, 125 at Penrice Community School, 50 at Pool School, 50 at Humphrey Davey School, 50 at Richard Lander School, 50 at Launceston College and 50 at Roseland School.

In addition, pupils from Penair School, Penrice Community School and Penryn School planted 250 NHS Forest trees at Park Farm. This initiative was a partnership between young people, the NHS, Cornwall Council, the Centre for Sustainable Healthcare and The Rowse Trust.

In the build up to the planting, the project sites received ‘highly commended’ in the Good Corporate Citizenship category at the HSJ awards on 15 November 2011 at the Grosvenor Hotel, London.
