Green search engine Ecosia has launched its #GrowYourLove campaign to plant trees dedicated to NHS key workers.

To help UK users show their appreciation for the incredible efforts of NHS key workers during the pandemic, Ecosia is partnering with the NHS Forest and Trees for Cities to launch #GrowYourLove, a long-term, forward-looking initiative to plant trees in and near hospitals in the UK.

What can you do to help?

Ecosia will be donating its revenues from searches made by UK users every Thursday throughout May 2020. Members of the public can also sponsor trees directly.

The trees will be planted in and around hospitals all across the UK, including Hywel Dda University Health Board in southwest Wales; Aintree University Hospital in Liverpool; Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust; Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust; Newcastle University Hospital Trust and Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in Greater London, among others. The NHS Forest and Trees for Cities will coordinate the volunteer and community led tree-planting days, which will take place during the tree-planting season from November to March.

You’re already showing your love for the NHS by clapping every Thursday – now it’s time to #GrowYourLove!

“There is a huge amount of evidence for the physical and mental health benefits of trees and green spaces. With the NHS Forest we have been helping organisations improve their natural environment and reconnect their staff and patients with nature for over 10 years. We are so happy to partner with Ecosia for this wonderful project, to grow the NHS Forest, and in a positive, lasting way to say THANK YOU for the care and dedication NHS workers have given us, particularly in this crisis.”
