The Centre for Sustainable Healthcare has run a ‘Naturally Healthy’ workshop bringing together healthcare professionals and leaders of green space projects. Run in conjunction with the Ecosystems Knowledge Network and Cambridgeshire Nature Partnership, the aim of the event was to encourage more people to use green space projects to improve their health.
The workshop’s morning session involved the health sector local to Cambridgeshire, while the afternoon brought in green space professionals in the surrounding area.
Speakers included:
- Dan Bloomfield, Dose of Nature, Exeter University
- Vicky Head, Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Clinical Commissioning Group
- Shaun Birdsall, Health Improvement Specialist at Cambridgeshire County Council
Throughout the day, the delegates discussed the health priorities of the local area, the evidence base for green space projects and how to measure the health outcomes. During a ‘Dragon’s Den’-type exercise, organisers of green space projects presented their ideas to healthcare professionals.
Cambridgeshire Nature Partnership has set up a Naturally Health Task force, see further information in the document below.
