Axis Group supports the NHS Forest to create green spaces for NHS patients and staff
Axis Group, one of the UK’s fastest growing security, cleaning and front of house services organisations, has become a corporate supporter of the NHS Forest. This will support the NHS Forest’s collaboration with healthcare professionals and organisations to inspire NHS workers to use green spaces to improve patients’ experience and aid the recovery process.
To help with this Axis Group has committed to plant a tree for every new employee it recruits going forward. Axis’ support for the NHS Forest is in appreciation of the extraordinary work conducted by the NHS staff during such challenging and unprecedented times.
Simon Giles, Axis Cleaning Chief Operating Officer & Axis Group Finance Director, says the desire to support the NHS, people’s health and the environment led to the selection of the NHS Forest as its chosen charity: “We want to praise and support our NHS by all means available and our support for the NHS Forest is a token of our appreciation and gratitude. The dedication and resilience shown by NHS workers during the past difficult year is admirable, and we hope to pay something back by investing in the long-term health and wellbeing of staff and patients.”
Carey Newson, the Centre for Sustainable Healthcare's Green Space for Health Programme Director, said: “We are grateful to Axis Group for their support for the NHS Forest. This will help NHS organisations in planting trees at their sites or close by, with environmental and therapeutic benefits for patients, staff and the wider community.”
