Incredible Edible and Ambulance Services partnership launched

In Todmorden, home of the Incredible Edible movement, the NHS Forest launched a new partnership with Incredible Edible and Yorkshire Ambulance whilst celebrating another successful year of tree planting on NHS estates to link health and environment. The days festivities included an awards ceremony, a delivery worskop and a tour of the planting done by the health centre and the Yorkshire Ambulance Service. The Great Outdoor Gym Company, our main sponsor, was also present at the event.

NHS Forest's largest site planning a planting day

The largest NHS Forest site in the country is planning a planting day to officially launch its woodland site. The NHS Kent and Medway site at West Farleigh, Maidstone, already has 3,500 trees but a push is now on with NHS staff across the county of Kent to encourage them to sponsor more. For more information as to how you can get involved please contact the Kent and Medway NHS Forest Team: kmnhsforest@nhs.net

Apple picking day at Lancashire Care NHS Forest site

Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust held an apple harvest day as part of their gardening initatives to promote active lifestyles and more sustainable living. The event involved volunteers picking apples from the site's orchard and distributing them to the Step Down Unit. Volunteers included staff, local residents, partner groups and campers from a local site. An apple juicer was provided by the Abundance project so pickers were able to taste the produce too!

Forest News - how many trees have you planted so far?

The current tree count is 16,768, fantastic work but there are even more trees in the ground that still need to be registered, so please update your tree counter to help us reach our target of 1.3 million trees. Do share any seasonal activites you may be up to at your NHS Forest.
