University Hospital North Staffordshire plants over 12,000 NHS Forest Trees!

The University Hospital of North Staffordshire NHS Trust have planted over 12,000 trees as part of the creation of a new hospital site.
For the past few years University Hospital of North Staffordshire NHS Trust has been undergoing extensive redevelopment to its sites. As part of the development the Trust has taken the opportunity to increase the amount of trees and other planting across the site. The aim is to make the spaces surrounding the buildings greener and more attractive for patients, staff and visitors.

The narrative for the conference is simple. Sustainability is a journey from where we are now to where we want to be. Each day has a different theme with Day 1 being about making changes to existing healtcare systems (including buildings and energy), Day 2 Improved models of care focusing on engaging healthcare professionals and patients and Day 3; Radical Transformation- incentives for health not illness looking at preventative medicine such as healthy food and greenspace.

Forest News - how many trees have you planted so far?

The current tree count is 33,153, fantastic work but there are even more trees in the ground that still need to be registered, so please update your tree counter to help us reach our target of 1.3 million trees. Do share any seasonal activites you may be up to at your NHS Forest.
