Greater London Authority Community Tree Nurseries study and links with the NHS Forest
As part of the Mayor’s RE:LEAF programme The Next Field, a green spaces business consultancy, has been commissioned by the GLA to explore the potential for London to establish and sustain a wider network of community led tree nurseries.
The study includes looking at existing tree nurseries and examples of good practice, identifying potential of community tree nurseries to produce locally grown/local provenance trees and quantifying the markets for the trees to be sold and how this will inform the business case for an expanded network of CTN's in London.
We are very keen to explore potential connections between promoting the benefits of locally grown trees and planting initiatives on the NHS estate as part of the NHS Forest, and would therefore be very interested to hear your thoughts and ideas about future collaborations within the health service - and also from health charities based in London who would like a slice of the action!
