At Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is a mental health trust providing services for mental health, learning disabilities and substance misuse. It also provides children's services. The trust joined the NHS Forest in 2011 planting 42 trees. In 2014 the trust took part in planting 2trees@2pm on NHS Sustainability Day of Action.
The redevelopment of the site provided the opportunity for tree planting to ensure that the space surrounding the hospital was more aesthetically pleasing. A number of benches and a sculpture made out of apple wood have been created to encourage staff and patients to use this area for rest and relaxation.
On NHS Sustainability Day 2015, the trust planted 26 trees after 260 of their members went paper free!
